Force a Password Update for Ohter Users

Authorized users can force a password update for others upon their next login by expiring their passwords.

When expiring the password for other users, they will need to update their password upon their next successful login. For current users who are already logged in, a password update can only be enforced if they log out, either manually or through an administrator's action. For further details, please refer to the article "Log Users Out".

Follow these steps to expire the passwords for other users:

Permissions Required
  • Utilities > Security > Users > View Users

  • Utilities > Security > Users > Reset Password for Others

  1. From the Utilities Menu , go to Security > Users.

  2. Using the filters, search the users that you want to force a password change.

  3. Select one or more users from the grid.

  4. From the Action panel, click on 'Expire Password' button.

  5. The selected users will be required to change their passwords upon their next successful login. This action will take effect regardless of any existing password reset periods.
