USI App
The USI app provides functionality to manage USIs (Unique Student Identifiers) and interact with the USI Students Registry System.
The setup of the USI App involves three key steps:
Configure the App in eBECAS
Authorise eBECAS in RAM (Relationship Authorisation Manager
Test the App
Before you Start
Make sure you have the following:
Access to your myID account. If you don’t have one, set it up on myID
Be the Principal Authority or Authorised Administrator of your RTO in RAM.
If you have not linked your RTO to your myID account, you need to do that first. More details here.
If you are a new RTO, request System Access to the USI Office.
Your ABN
Your Training Organisation Code as listed on https://training.gov.au
Step 1 - Configure the USI App in eBECAS
From the Apps page in eBECAS, locate the USI App and click on View
In the header, click on Configuration to display the configuration form
Copy the following details. You will need them in Step 2:
Digital Service Provider ABN: This is our (Equator IT) ABN.
Software ID: This is a unique number assigned to your organisation.
Note: If you choose to regenerate the Software ID, the integration will be invalidated until you reauthorise eBECAS in RAM (Step 2) with the new Software ID.
Enter the following details:
Your Training Organisation Code as listed on training.gov.au.
Your ABN (Australian Business Number).
Click on Save.
Clicking Test Connection in the header will result in a failed connection. This is because eBECAS has not yet been authorised in RAM to communicate with the USI registry on your behalf. This authorisation will be addressed in the next step.
Step 2 - Authorise eBECAS in RAM
In this step, you are going to authorise eBECAS to interact with the USI Registry agency on your behalf. You do this by creating a notification in RAM.
Note: You need to be a principal authority or authorisation administrator to add and manage notifications in RAM.
Log into RAM https://authorisationmanager.gov.au/#/login
Select the business you are sending the notification for
select Manage notifications then Add notification
Enter our (Equator IT) ABN from Step 1 on the Digital Service Provider ABN field.
Review the Entity name is EQUATOR PTY. LTD and click Continue
Enter the following and click Continue:
Software ID: This is the Software ID from Step 1
Start Date: The date that you are planning to use the integration from
End Date: Select No End Date or the date that you are planning to stop using the integration.
Select the Office of the Student Identifiers Registrar as the agency you want to notify and click on Continue
Check all the details are correct and click on Submit.

Step 3 - Test Integration
It's time to test the integration to ensure eBECAS can successfully connect to the USI system.
In eBECAS, navigate to the configuration page of the USI app.
Click on Test Connection in the header.
A success message should appear, confirming the connection.
Revoke Access
To revoke access, follow these steps:
In RAM, locate the notification created in Step 2. Select Edit, then choose Remove
In eBECAS, go to the USI App configuration page and click Regenerate Software ID
