Understanding the Cause of the Issue

The "Error in Application: Call was rejected by callee" error during Word Merge typically results from conditions within the user's local environment. Since eBECAS/EDMISS processes merges directly on the user’s computer, any disruptions on that system, such as an inactive Office installation, template file errors, or open dialogs within Word, can trigger this issue.

Checklist for Issue Resolution

  • Check Activation Status of Word/Office
Ensure that the Word or Office application on the user's computer is properly activated. Inactive installations may trigger pop-up messages that could interfere with the merge process.

  • Verify the Template File
Please ensure there are no errors with the template file you are trying to merge. You can download templates by going to Setup Configuration > Word Template > Desired object. From there, click on the template and press the download button to save it to your computer. Make sure it can be opened without any errors or warnings, as these will interrupt the merge.

  • Close All Word Windows and Dialogs
Before starting the merge process, close any open Word windows and confirm there are no message dialogs active. Any open Word document or dialog, such as table properties, image prompts, or file recovery messages, can interfere with the merge.
