Student Number Settings
Structure of the Student Number
Each student number is made up of up to three parts—Prefix, Padding, and the System Number—with a total maximum length of 10 characters.
This ensures that every student number follows a consistent format while remaining unique within the system.
[Prefix] + [Padding] + [System Number]
Each section serves a specific purpose:
Prefix (Optional): A set of up to 3 alphanumeric characters placed at the beginning of the student number.
Padding (Optional): A set of leading characters in front of the system number, after the prefix (if one is set). As the system number grows, the padding shortens automatically to keep the total length up to a maximum of 10 characters.
System Number: The automatically generated sequential number that ensures each student record is unique within the system.
When combined, these elements create the final student number format.
